Patagonia, literally « the land of big feet », is a very large territory of South America known for its

magnificent lanscapes and low population. A very humid region, stretching from the endless

plains of Argentinian pampa to the summits of the Andes.

The Chilean patagonia, recently known for the HidroAysen project controversy, is still at the

center of tensions when it comes to exploiting natural resources. Apart from the megadam project

which was finally rejected by the government following public pressure, this region is very much at

the mercy of multi­national companies. Land of contrasts and contradictions, Patagonia will be our

first destination.
