Why go to California ?

The Golden state is known for its economic and cultural dynamism, its high tech innovations and

also, lately, for its water shortages. Indeed, California has recently suffered its worst drought in centuries.

Today the vast majority of the State is still at high risk. The San Joaquin Valley, also known as the

« bread basket of America » exports most of its production even though agricultural crops are

water intensive. The recurrent urban waste in major cities such as Los Angeles is a hotly debated

topic.

California highlights the indiscriminateness of our modern societies which it comes to dealing with

fundamental needs. But our stay will allow us to rub shoulder to shoulder with people who are

trying to build a sustainable future for their state.
